[Sep 2023] Opening Night

The opening of No Sudden Moves went well. After many months of planning and work in the the studio it was very reward to finally share my work and in return there were some great speeches, discussions and feedback.

[Sep 2023] Ceramics in progress

I’m creating new paintings and ceramics for my solo exhibition No Sudden Moves at West Berkshire Museum.
This involves transformation of my source material using a variety of compositional and procedural approaches.

[July 2023] At Reading Museum

Here I am discussing ‘Rider’ during a rewarding afternoon at Reading Museum. I was one of ten artists (all members of OpenHand OpenSpace) invited to talk about their work as part of the exhibition Abstract Art Now.

[June 2023] An open studio

In June I opened my studio for one weekend as part of Whiteknights Studio Trail. It’s been an annual event for 23 years and is very well attended. I had a really good time meeting new people and having some great conversations, feedback and sales.

[April 2023] A new studio

The trigger for us moving house was finding out in Jan 2022 that I would lose my studio that April. Twelve months later our builder makes a start on structural renovations including the removal of the chimney breast shown here.

[Jan 2023] Something essential

January was marked by bad weather and slow progress on the renovations of our new house, ongoing since June 2022.
It’s no good looking forward to having a nice new studio if visitors don’t have a floor to walk on to reach it - so the arrival of the concrete lorry was a welcome milestone!
