Lichtundfire is pleased to announce and welcome all to the Opening Reception of THE UNKNOWN, jointly curated by artist and curator Stephen Cimini and Lichtundfire’s gallery director Priska Juschka.
The Exhibition, with work in various media from Abstraction to Abstracted, Conceptual Representation, addresses what constitutes our being, the essence of what makes us human, and our attempts to make sense of and befriend what lies beyond.
THE UNKNOWN is recognized as both a concept and an entity that we might covet, explore, fear, dream of, obsess over, seek, or otherwise engage with. It is both a promise and a limitation, and can be a curse, an obstacle, or a revelation.
It manifests in many ways and is often not manifest at all. It engages us biologically, emotionally, psychologically, spiritually, socially, or in any other way that is considered human.
The artists in the exhibition, with their own concepts, materials, media, and techniques, extend the view on what we might consider THE UNKNOWN— and open the door to what we might seek.
